Powered by several key industry sectors, the Tulsa economy is growing. Thriving businesses in target areas like manufacturing, aerospace, information technology and transportation offer promising careers with immediate needs for skilled talent. However, many working adults are simply not aware of their job prospects locally or the educational and training requirements needed to advance their careers.
To address this knowledge gap, the Tulsa Regional Chamber partnered with Virtual Job Shadow, a national career exploration service utilized by Tulsa Public Schools, to showcase career opportunities in northeast Oklahoma. Virtual Job Shadow connects residents of the Tulsa region with the information they need to complete a degree or training program and land a higher-paying job. With an aggressive marketing campaign, the Chamber is able to find and provide this resource to area job seekers -- all at no cost to them.
This work is supported by Tulsa's membership in Lumina Foundation's Community Partnership for Attainment. Lumina is the largest private foundation working to improve degree completion rates in the nation.

In addition to informational resources, Virtual Job Shadow's video library shows on-the-clock experience for thousands of jobs. This exposure is invaluable to those considering a career change, evaluating their options for advancement or deciding to finish a post secondary degree.
