Senior Events Specialist

The Senior Events Specialist at the Tulsa Regional Chamber will report to the Director of Events. Candidates for this position must be able to work with many groups both internal and external to the Chamber. A key responsibility for this position will be to manage specific networking and government affairs related events. Additionally the Senior Events Specialist will provide assistance in a supportive role to many events held by the Chamber.

Principal Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Manage Chamber’s networking events including; Summer and Fall Golf Tournaments and Legislative Briefing Breakfast Series with final budgetary approval from Director of Events
  • Provide planning and preparation support to Director of Events on current and future Chamber events
  • Assist in a supportive role at Chamber events
  • Manage current and past-due registration invoicing with accounting department
  • Manage event invoices and track payment status, interfacing with accounts payable to clarify issues and resolve problems
  • Manage sponsorship fulfillment process as it relates to events, interfacing with Resource Development to clarify issues and resolve problems
  • Respond to incoming calls in a prompt and service oriented manner
  • Perform other incidental and related duties as required and assigned

  • Responsible for achieving a satisfactory rating annually as it relates to approved annual objectives and talent development action plan (TDAP).
  • Accountable by assuring that all direct reporting staff, if applicable, has achieved their annual development goals.
  • Performs other incidental and related duties as required and assigned. 

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: 

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in required in related field;
  • 3 - 5 years of relevant work experience in event planning.

Work & Physical Requirements: 

  • Work environment: Normally a typical office environment, with minimal exposure to excessive noise or adverse environmental issues, with occasional outdoor exposure to heat, cold, and environmental elements.
  • Physical demands: Manipulate, handle, feel, and control items or equipment. Able to read, write, and interpret written documents. Occasionally lift and move objects weighing up to 25 pounds. Standing and walking for extended times required at events.
