Local entrepreneur Edna Martinson stressed how networking can help companies Wednesday during a meeting of the Tulsa Regional Chamber’s Technology Council at the USA BMX Headquarters and Hall of Fame Museum.

Martinson immigrated to the United States from Ghana, West Africa, when she was a teenager. She is the co-founder of Boddle Learning, an online platform that helps kindergarten through sixth-grade teachers deliver math practice and assessments using game play and artificial intelligence.

A member of the Tech Council, Martinson also is a 2023 Forbes 30-under-30 recipient in education who is scheduled to speak Sept. 27 at the Chamber’s Education Leadership Summit.

“There are so many great organizations here in Tulsa in tech, different stages, different industries,” Martinson said Wednesday before a Tech Council crowd of 22. “An important thing to do to kick this off is to bring everyone together in the same room and provide these opportunities for networking and just to know who we are and what we’re working on.”

Guests invited to facilitate networking were Giovanni Martinez of Mind the Bridge; Michelle Barnett, senior vice president of economic and workforce development for PartnerTulsa; Jonathan Sanders, economic development manager for PartnerTulsa; Charlotte Howe, Northeast Regional Specialist for the Oklahoma Department of Commerce; and Elizabeth Osborn, senior vice president of government affairs for the Chamber.

Also at the meeting, Ray Hoyt, executive director of the USA BMX Foundation, delivered an overview of BMX and its STEAM (science, technology, engineering, arts and mathematics) program.
