The Tulsa Regional Chamber announced today the appointment of Dr. Brett Campbell to the role of Senior Vice President of Education and Workforce, effective October 17. Campbell succeeds Brian Paschal, who departed the role in July to become the President and CEO of The Foundation for Tulsa Schools.
“It would be an understatement to say I am excited by this opportunity,” said Dr. Campbell. “Having devoted my professional career to higher education and, more recently, workforce development, I see this role as the culmination of a personal and professional journey that began nearly 30 years ago.”
In his new role at the Chamber, Dr. Campbell will be responsible for the development and management of the Chamber’s education and workforce program. This program involves collaborating with membership and regional partners to develop public policy, develop strategies to implement policies, develop partnerships with education and workforce experts at all levels, and develop and implement programmatic partnerships, such as Tulsa’s Young Professionals, Partners In Education and Mosaic.
“Brett’s significant accomplishments in the higher education arena make him an outstanding fit for this role,” said Tulsa Regional Chamber President and CEO Mike Neal. “He fully understands the intersection of educational offerings and workforce needs, and that understanding will enable him to bring considerable insights to the Chamber’s efforts in these areas.”
Through October 14, Dr. Campbell will continue in his current capacity as the Vice President for Workforce Development, as well as Provost for the Northeast Campus of Tulsa Community College (TCC).
As Provost, he serves as the executive operational officer for a campus of 4,000 students and 200 employees. Dr. Campbell also provides strategic leadership for TCC’s community partnerships for economic development and academic leadership for workforce development programs.
He formerly served as the Provost for TCC’s Southeast Campus, and before that was TCC’s Associate Vice President of Operations and Special Initiatives. In this capacity, he provided leadership and direct support to the President for multiple college-wide implementation projects, including key improvements in safety, security and crisis response for employees and students.
Dr. Campbell first joined TCC in 2003 as the Associate Vice President of Student Affairs, overseeing student services functions for the four-campus institution.
“Brett Campbell has been a valued executive with Tulsa Community College,” said TCC President and CEO Leigh B. Goodson, Ph.D. “We wish him great success and look forward to growing our partnership with the Tulsa Regional Chamber in workforce and education under Brett’s leadership.”
Prior to joining TCC, Dr. Campbell held positions as Dean of Student Affairs at Rogers State University in Claremore, Oklahoma, and Director of Residential Life at Johnson State College in Johnson, Vermont.
He earned a doctoral degree in higher education administration from Oklahoma State University, a master’s degree in curriculum and instruction from Oklahoma State University, and a bachelor’s degree in political science and history from the University of Oklahoma.
He is married to Jennifer, a faculty member at TCC, and spends much of his time enjoying the interests of his two adult children, ranching, and officiating ice hockey.
