Tulsa Regional Chamber comments on outcome of November 8 elections

Please attribute the following to Mike Neal, president and CEO of the Tulsa Regional Chamber:

“We at the Tulsa Regional Chamber congratulate the winners of yesterday’s elections. We are eager to work with these leaders to position our region and state for long-term prosperity.

“We congratulate Kevin Stitt for his hard-fought re-election to secure a second term as governor of Oklahoma. The Tulsa Regional Chamber partners closely with the governor to grow business, strengthen tourism to the state, and ensure a well-trained workforce. We look forward to continuing to work alongside Gov. Stitt and his cabinet on these issues.

“At the federal level, we congratulate Senator Lankford and Representative Hern along with the rest of Oklahoma’s House and Senate delegation who secured re-election. They have been staunch supporters of the northeast Oklahoma business community, and we are glad to see them return to Washington. We also give special congratulations to Markwayne Mullin for his victory securing a U.S. Senate seat to replace retiring Senator Jim Inhofe, and to Josh Brecheen in his victory in Oklahoma’s 2nd Congressional District. We look forward to partnering with these leaders on federal priorities for northeastern Oklahoma, including the infrastructure needs of businesses, and unwinding burdensome regulations and permitting processes. We are confident that the Tulsa region’s business community will be well represented in Oklahoma’s federal delegation.

“We also congratulate Stan Sallee in his reelection to Tulsa County Commission District 1. The business community has a strong partner in Tulsa County, and we look forward to continuing our work together.

“The Chamber will continue to work with elected officials to reflect the interests of northeast Oklahoma’s business community. We look forward to partnering with policymakers on both sides of the aisle who share our commitment to regional economic prosperity.”

“This election cycle has been one of the most important and engaging cycles I have ever seen in Oklahoma. We have crucial issues like inflation and workforce shortages to tackle, and yesterday’s results give me confidence in our ability to do just that.

“We congratulate all of the candidates across Oklahoma who were victorious yesterday. Our political action committees will continue to work with business-friendly candidates to help ensure their continued success in upcoming elections.”

Please attribute the following to Gordy Guest, co-chair of the Chamber-affiliated TulsaBizPAC:

“There was a lot of excitement about the midterm elections across the Tulsa region yesterday, which reflects how deeply invested Tulsans are in their community. With so many important races on the ballot, we are thrilled to see this level of engagement.

“We congratulate all the Tulsa City Council candidates who were victorious yesterday and in the general elections in August. We look forward to working with the entire council on issues of importance to the Tulsa region’s business community.”
