On April 4, the Tulsa Global Alliance (TGA) honored the Tulsa Regional Chamber with the Organization of the Year Award at TGA’s annual Global Vision gala and fundraiser.
In keeping with its mission to build global community by fostering international partnerships, connections, and citizen-to-citizen relationships, TGA honored the Chamber for promoting global business, trade, and economic development, and for enhancing Tulsa’s role as an international city.
Susan Bynum, vice president of OU-Tulsa and honorary gala co-chair (along with her husband, Tulsa Mayor G.T. Bynum), announced the Chamber honor.
“The Tulsa Chamber has done so much for Tulsa, and our community, and for building global alliances,” Bynum said.
Mike Neal, president and CEO of the Tulsa Regional Chamber, accepted the honor on behalf of the organization.
“We are so proud to represent this city and this region on a daily basis,” Neal said. “We are becoming more and more of a global city every single day, and it’s great to see how impressed these global companies are when they step foot in our community and our region for the first time.”
Neal said new visitors are taken with many aspects of our region.
“The most important thing is they fall in love with our people, with our workforce, and with the quality of life we have here,” he said.
Additional gala honorees were Mainsprings founder Chris Gates and former Tulsa Mayor Kathy Taylor.
