The Tulsa Regional Chamber has announced two staffing additions within its government affairs division, which oversees annual development of the OneVoice Regional Legislative Agenda and advocates year-round on behalf of the northeast Oklahoma business community.
Josh Driskell, IOM, will join the Tulsa Regional Chamber on May 1 as its vice president of government affairs. He will work alongside the Chamber’s senior vice president of government affairs, former state representative Katie Henke, who has been with the Chamber since 2019.
Driskell most recently served as vice president of operations and government affairs for the Broken Arrow Chamber of Commerce. He previously served as president and CEO of the Jenks Chamber of Commerce for more than a decade.
Driskell is a graduate of the University of Tulsa with a degree in political science. Prior to his work in the chamber industry, he was an award-winning journalist and a congressional aide. He has also worked on dozens of political campaigns, ranging from school bonds to statewide races.
“Josh is a true Chamber veteran who understands every aspect of advocacy and government relations,” said Henke. “He has long been a tireless advocate on behalf of our region, and that will undoubtedly continue in his role with us.”
Also already joining the Chamber as an expert consultant is Kathryn Junk, who previously served as chief of staff to Tulsa Mayor G.T. Bynum. In that role, Junk was responsible for leading the mayor’s team to carry out the city’s comprehensive strategic plan, along with overseeing policy initiatives and crisis management.
“Kathryn has a wealth of political and strategic experience from which we can draw,” said Henke. “She will serve as an expert consultant as the Chamber continues to pursue business-friendly legislation at all levels of government.”
Among other prior roles, Junk served as the deputy press secretary in both Washington and Tulsa for former U.S. Senator Jim Inhofe. Junk earned a B.A. in journalism from the University of Oklahoma and an M.B.A from The University of Tulsa.
“Both Josh and Kathryn will be tremendous additions to the Tulsa Regional Chamber team,” said Chamber President and CEO Mike Neal. “They are both accomplished professionals who know how to collaborate effectively with colleagues and within the wider community in order to move our entire region forward.
