Tulsa has a great story to tell, and a group of local leaders recently made sure California companies heard it.

Stacy Smith, senior director of economic development at the Tulsa Regional Chamber, led a Tulsa-area delegation that made a business trip to the San Francisco Bay Area on April 29-30.

Accompanying Smith were Tyler Wallace, principal at GH2 Architects; Neil Dailey, a broker at McGraw Commercial Properties; and Krystal Crockett, president and CEO of the Bixby Metro Chamber of Commerce.

While meeting with site consultants and seven companies stretching from San Francisco to San Jose, the group built relationships, learnedabout industry trends and shared economic development opportunities available in the Tulsa region.

They met with firms in the advanced manufacturing and fintech sector, including San Jose-based PayPal, as well as with companies in the autonomous and advanced aerial mobility industries.

Tulsas Future is the Chamber-led regional economic development partnership. Through the initiative, the Tulsa region has added 8,126 jobs since 2022, with capital investment linked to those jobs expected to reach nearly $3.5 billion.

The Chamber’s economic development team makes several out-of-state business trips annually, with the next one scheduled for June in New York City.

“The Tulsa region has such a vibrant and compelling story that needs to be told, Smith said. Meeting directly with companies and site consultants allows us the chance to share that story and talk about the momentum seen in our region. Starting the Tulsa conversation is the first step to building potential partnerships and growth in the future.”
