A visit curated by Tulsa Regional Tourism and involving multiple stakeholders citywide paid off in a big way with a Tulsa-focused feature in The Wall Street Journal over the weekend.

The story called Tulsa “an unlikely hub for art, culture and gastronomy” and highlighted touchstones such as The Outsiders House Museum (including an interview with Danny Boy O’Connor), the Bob Dylan Center, The Church Studio, Living Kitchen and Route 66.

"A new wave of transplants is being drawn in by the city's affordability, slower pace and open spaces," WSJ reporter Liza Weisstuch wrote.

Le’Andra LeSeur, who came to Tulsa from New York on a three-year Tulsa Artist Fellowship, plans to make Tulsa a long-term home.

“It’s my dream to buy a house with some land so I can build a studio,” LeSeur told the newspaper. “It feels very possible to do that in Tulsa as an artist.”
