The Tulsa Office of Film, Music, Arts & Culture (FMAC) was announced last week as a founding member of the newly unveiled Association of Music Offices (AMO).

The purpose of AMO is to bring together “leaders from music offices across the country to champion shared resources and best practices for local music ecosystems.”

The announcement came during the 2026 Music Biz Conference in Atlanta.

“Tulsa FMAC has been working closely with the other founding members for over a year and a half to develop an inclusive and resourceful organization for music offices around the country,” said Meg Gould, executive director of Tulsa FMAC. “We realized a need existed for a formal, national association meant to support music communities nationwide with shared knowledge and ideas, and the result was AMO.”

A first-of-its-kind national organization, AMO initially will emcompass music officers, executive directors and key representatives from municipal and state music and entertainment offices, cultural affairs departments, nonprofit music organizations and industry affiliates, including the Recording Academy. The association serves as the collective voice for music office leadership, sharing expertise and fostering long-term economic impact and cultural vitality nationwide.

The founding members include several government organizations, as well as music offices from Dallas, New Orleans, Texas and the state of Oklahoma (Oklahoma Film + Music).
