Applications for the 2027 TYPROS (Tulsa’s Young Professionals) Leadership Team are open now through Aug. 21. The application is available at this link

On Friday, TYPROS’ current leaders hosted an information session for those interested in applying. Here are some Frequently Asked Questions (and answers).

What Leadership Team positions are available?

TYPROS has eight crews: Arts & Entertainment, Business Development, Diversity, Government Relations, Leadership & Service, Sustainability, Tech and Urbanists.

Leadership Team positions are available on each of these eight crews, as well as up to four “at-large” positions and Member Experience.

Can I apply now to be the next TYPROS Chair?

Leadership Team positions are a two-year commitment, whereas TYPROS Chair includes an additional three-year commitment to TYPROS’ Executive Leadership Team, which includes the past, current and future TYPROS Chair, as well as two Tulsa Regional Chamber staff members.

This application period is to apply for any crew or at-large positions.

“I led 918 Vote — that was my entry point — in 2023,” said Lauren Miers, 2025 TYPROS Chair. “I led the Government Relations Crew in 2024. I was supposed to chair in 2026, but then I became chair in 2025 and now I’m the immediate past chair.”

What are the requirements to apply?

TYPROS Leadership Team members must be ages 18-40 and available for the following time commitments:

  • Leadership Team meeting on the first Wednesday of the month, 5:30-7 p.m.
  • Must attend at least of 6 of 10 annual Pub Clubs, which are the third Tuesday of the month from 5:30-7 p.m.
  • Available upon request to have monthly one-on-one meetings with members
  • Available to attend at least 12 TYPROS events per year outside the leader’s own programming
  • Other planned meetings as needed for events or programs

Why should I apply?

Here are answers from the past, current and future TYPROS chairs:

2025 TYPROS Chair Lauren Miers: “Learning more and serving the community is one of my highest values, and I make that a priority outside of my working life.”

2026 TYPROS Chair Hayden Hanoch: “I loved making connections and getting to know more people in the community and I wanted to give a little bit more of my time in the community. Stepping into the Leadership Team was the perfect segue. It really elevated my awareness of things going on in the community and who the movers and shakers were and how effective people get things done.”

2027 TYPROS Chair Jameelah Stuckey: “People should apply for the leadership team, one, because it’s a fun time; two, because it’s engaging; three, because you will lead, engage, develop and connect.”

If selected, what happens next?

The TYPROS 2027 Leadership Team will have the following events later this year:

Sept. 28 and Oct. 21: Onboarding sessions

Oct. 14, Nov. 4 and Dec. 2: Leadership Team meetings

Oct. 24-25: TYPROS Leadership Retreat

Nov. 12: Instill, TYPROS’ annual fundraising event
