Crusoe, an artificial intelligence infrastructure firm, reinvested in Tulsa in a big way Monday, announcing the dedication of a second manufacturing facility in the city.
Its new 400,000-square-foot building at 3995 N. 125thEast Ave. follows up Crusoe’s $10 million investment made in its first Tulsa facility in 2024.
Cully Cavness, Crusoe’s co-founder and chief strategy officer, said he was comfortable expanding in the city for a variety of reasons.
“We felt the support; we felt that we would be able to get things permitted,” he said at a news conference at the new facility. “We felt that we would be able to hire great talent, that we would be able to do business in a place that prides itself on being pro-business. That’s a huge part of our decision-making process at Crusoe.”
The company’s announcement brings to 300 the number of jobs it has created in Tulsa. Founded in Denver in 2018, Crusoe now has more than 1,500 full-time employees nationwide.
“We believe in the skilled workforce here,” Cavness said. “Everybody in this room, you have proved us right.
...You should be really excited and inspired that you are part of building the future. These are historic achievements that we’re making together.”
Justin McLaughlin is executive vice president and chief operating officer for the Tulsa Regional Chamber.
“With this 400,000-square-foot facility, Crusoe is continuing to construct the physical infrastructure that will power the next era of artificial intelligence — and, in doing so, is helping build the infrastructure for the next era of human progress,” he said.
“That takes ingenuity. It takes vision. And it takes the courage to look at where technology is going and decide you want to help build what comes next. Crusoe is doing exactly that.”
Oklahoma Gov. Kevin Stitt applauded Crusoe’s commitment to the state.
“Everywhere I go in the state, parents ask me, ‘Can my kids have a better life here?’” he said. “Can they get a good job? Can they stay in Oklahoma? Do they have to move out of state to find opportunity?’
“I’m telling you that it’s facilities like this that answer that question. When a company like Crusoe chooses Tulsa, it tells all our young people across our state that the future is right here in Oklahoma.”
Tulsa Mayor Monroe Nichols agreed.
“There’s a place for everybody in this community when it comes to economic mobility,” he said. “I’m thinking of the young people who are sitting in classrooms right now waiting on what that opportunity might be, and it is right where I’m standing. I say thank you to the job creators and the dreamers...”
